DSL Broadband Aggregator

DSL Broadband Aggregator

The DSL Broadband Aggregator (DBA) provides link aggregation to remote DSLAMs in rural carrier networks, aggregating up to 24 A/VDSL2 (17a & 35b profiles) pairs. The DBA enhances networks where bandwidth delivery is limited by DSLAM backhaul capability (8 pair G.Bond/EFM and legacy T1).

Once the DSLAM backhaul is enhanced by the DBA, the DSLAM can then deliver enhanced bandwidth to the home or enterprise customers. Further reach/bandwidth enhancements can be achieved by adding the DBE to either the backhaul or subscriber side of the DSLAM.

  • Extends the high bandwidth reach of the carrier’s network to enable the Genesis platform to deliver residential and enterprise solutions
  • Works seamlessly with the Genesis Access Service Manager (ASM) appliance to deliver enhanced bandwidth over aggregated links
  • By maintaining high bandwidth over long-reach, additional carrier services such as Internet Protocol television (IPTV),Video-on-Demand (VOD) and gaming can be introduced to the customer resulting in increased ARPU to the carrier
  • Existing carrier bandwidth packages can now be extended to rural areas

  • Scalable up to 24 ports of A/VDSL2 (17a & 35b profile)
  • Full support for Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS)
  • On power failure no disruption to POTS service and reduced DSL service preserved
  • Typically delivers 500 Mb/s (1 mile DBE spacing using 24 pairs) with shorter distances delivering over 1 Gb/s
  • Line or locally powered
  • Pole mounted in an externally hardened enclosure

  • Managed by the Access Service Manager (ASM)
  • Supports SNMP V2c and CLI via SSH
