High Speed Broadband in Rural Communities – Stephen Cooke to speak at SCTE Spring Lecture
Genesis is pleased to announce that Stephen Cooke, Genesis President, CTO and inventor of DSL Rings has been invited to speak at the SCTE (The Society for Broadband Professionals) Spring Lecture on Wednesday 17th April at the Institute of Engineering and Technology in London, UK.
For his presentation, ‘High Speed Broadband in Rural Communities (DSL Rings)’, Stephen will discuss a systems engineering approach to using DSL Acceleration techniques to solve the challenges of accessing superfast broadband in rural communities. Stephen will talk about delivering very high speed broadband to rural locations, and present the technology of a new and economical solution, DSL Rings.
DSL Rings is a patented, award winning technology that delivers very high speed broadband, up to 400 Mb/s, over existing copper telecommunications networks, where distance from the exchange can often be a limiting factor in deploying traditional broadband solutions.
Founded in 1945, the SCTE is a Learned Society and non-profit making organisation whose aim is to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the telecommunications industry. The Society particularly concerns itself with the training and career advancement of technical professionals in the field. The SCTE also provides accreditation and certification for its members, giving them professional standing within the industry.
The SCTE stages lecture meetings three to four times per year, mainly at the IET in London, in the Balkans and through its Benelux Group at selected European venues including IBC. The SCTE also runs an annual Balkan Broadband conference and exhibition in the Balkans.
