05.12.2013

World Communication Awards Finalist

Genesis has been nominated for a prestigious Innovation Award at this year’s World Communication Awards 2013. The company’s ground-breaking DSL Rings™ technology has been singled out because of its ability to deliver exceptional broadband speeds over existing copper networks. The principal annual awards for global telecom operators (telcos) and service providers, the World Communication Awards 2013 was attended by over 600 leading players in the industry. Genesis was a finalist for The Innovation Award, amongst nominees including big name Telco’s AT&T, BT and NTT.

This nomination recognises the innovation behind DSL Rings, which, after five year’s Research & Development from Genesis Technical Systems, was launched at the Broadband World Forum in 2012.

DSL Rings presents telcos that already have significant investment in copper, with a real alternative to installing fibre. It is possible with DSL Rings, for fixed line telcos to realise a tangible return on investment within two years.

“It is a great honour for Genesis to be recognised for our innovative work, amongst many of the big-name players in the industry. Years of hard work in research and development are now paying off. This nomination shows us the industry is sitting up and taking notice,” said Nigel Hall, Managing Director at Genesis Technical Systems.

Winners of the WCA were announced at an awards ceremony, attended by Nigel Hall and Stephen Cooke, held as part of the Total Telecoms Festival 2013, on December 3rd in London. Unfortunately Genesis didn't win the Innovation Award but what a great milestone for Genesis to get into such a prestigious short list.
